Clownfish has announced the appointment of Matthew Mellen (pictiured) as Account Manager, as part of their rapidly growing London office.
Matthew’s expertise in sustainability stems from a both science and technology background in the environmental / ecological spheres. Since graduating in Biology from the University of Bristol, Matthew has gained over six years professional experience across the fields of conservation, ecological research and project management, working in the domains of academia, NGOs and private organisations globally.
Initial professional experience included a position as a shark research assistant at Bimini Biological Field Station at the University of Miami, leading research activities and undertaking habitat assessments.
Matthew’s subsequent roles saw a transition from the academic and research domains to a more strategic and multidimensional role in the campaigning and NGO sector. As a GE and food aid campaigner, writer and researcher at the Gaia Foundation, an international organisation concerned with biological and cultural diversity, Matthew was responsible for campaign activities in the UK as well as representing Gaia at key international meetings.
Before joining Clownfish, Matthew also gained valuable experience in the areas of both PR and marketing, as head of research at The Web of Hope. In addition to this Matthew continued to develop his specialist project management expertise, in a sustainability setting, as the One Planet Living Communities Coordinator at BioRegional Development Group.
