Oliver Bishop, co-founder and CEO of independent digital marketing agency Steak Media walked away as a joint winner of the Young Entrepreneur category at last night’s national business awards.
Hosted and organised by Real Business and CBI, the awards which are now in their ninth year recognise the UK’s best growing companies and entrepreneurial achievements. This year’s judges included some of the country’s most recognisable entrepreneurs such as Dragon’s Den Deborah Meaden and Peter Jones.
It was a Growing Business first that the judges selected two winners for the Young Entrepreneur category. Oliver Bishop and Dan McGuire of Broadbean Technology beat three other ambitious entrepreneurs, Simon Mansell of TBG London, Tom Chalmers of Legend Press and Alisha Lyndon of Logicall Results for the coveted title.

It has been an exciting and rewarding year for Steak Media; only just two weeks ago the agency was named Media Agency of the Year at the Interactive Marketing and Advertising Awards and Best High Growth Business at the Daily Mail Make Your Mark awards.
Oliver and Duncan Parry (co-founder and Director of Strategy), were also recently selected by the judges of COURVOISIER® The Future 500 as two of the top 50 brightest and best rising stars in three categories: business, media and science & innovation. The list showcases business talent and was published in a supplement by The Observer on Sunday 25th November 2007.
Steak Media was founded in February 2005 by three ex-Espotting employees, Oliver Bishop, Julian Walker and Duncan Parry who saw an opportunity in the market place for an independent digital agency with search as its core to deliver value, service and expertise to its clients.
The agency has expanded its customer base in the paid search, SEO, media planning and buying and affiliate marketing sectors and boasts an impressive client which already includes British Gas, John Lewis and Time Out. There are now over 50 employees at Steak and its predicted turnover for next year is £25m.
