eType video division launches

Premium online ad network eType (a division of Media Initiatives Group, the UK’s leading independent media sales house) announces the formation of a four-person specialist online video advertising sales team, eType Video. The launch builds on the success of eType’s exclusive UK licence agreement with Videoegg that was announced in March of this year.

The partnership with Videoegg, a specialist in video solutions for online communities, has given eType sole UK rights to video advertising across fourteen of the twenty most popular online communities, in addition to over fifty further premium sites.

According to recent reports, approximately 50 percent of UK web users visit social networking sites and 80 percent of UK users regularly access streaming media online. With access to eighty million video streams per month across sites including Bebo, Hi5 and Facebook third party apps, eType Video reaches an audience of over twenty million users and has quickly cemented its position as the UK’s largest video ad network.

Commenting on the formation of the new team Rob Gay, Managing Director of eType, said: “The ubiquity of social networking and the flexibility offered by video are both huge draws for advertisers.

"When you factor in a vastly improved click-through rate, that is around five times greater than that of traditional banner ads, it would only make sense for us to offer a dedicated video service. The eType Video team is able to provide customers with an individually tailored approach including free in-house creative services and strategic sales support.”

eType Video enables advertisers to target audiences over multiple websites, ensuring customers can reach their intended demographic. The eType Video team has already attracted a number of top advertisers including AOL, O2, Natwest, IKEA, Samsung, Paramount, Nokia, Pathe!, Ford, Universal, Gillette and Nike.
