Tamar, announced today that it has launched search conversion in Shanghai, the fastest growing financial centre in the world. The new office will be the next step in Tamar’s aggressive international expansion strategy as it sees continued high demand for its unique search conversion approach to online marketing.
The Shanghai office will become Tamar’s major business hub in the Far East, allowing the agency to drive growth and service clients in the emerging market. Internet penetration in China stands at 162 million users (source: Internet World Stats) and is growing fast.
Tanya Goodin, CEO, Tamar comments, “International expansion is a key part of our continued growth strategy and following detailed analysis of major world markets we found enormous potential in China not least with the rapid acceleration in internet penetration. We’ve seen growing demand from our existing clients at targeting the Chinese market, not least in the run up to next year’s Olympic Games and are confident that our entry into this market ahead of our competitors will be instrumental in fuelling our continued growth.”
The Chinese operations will report to Tamar’s Search Director, Neil Jackson, who also oversees the South Africa office.
Jackson comments, “Online marketing in China is really beginning to take off and we see plenty of demand from both Chinese and western brands aiming to build their online business in the Far East. Our tried and tested search conversion techniques are well suited to this emerging market and we have spent months developing sophisticated capabilities to deliver our highly popular approach in the Chinese language and character set.”
Tamar was founded 12 years ago by Goodin and has since grown into one of the UK’s major search consultancies. In 2006, Tamar opened an office in Cape Town, South Africa.
