The Communications Agency launches ‘Give a Few Bob’ DM campaign to raise funds for prostate cancer The Communciations Agency (TCA) is launching a new DM campaign this week as part of its hugely successful ‘Give A Few Bob’ campaign, starring the late Bob Monkhouse.
The activity, created for the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation, uses a combination of archive footage and images of Monkhouse, who died from prostate cancer in 2003, together with a body double, voiceovers and cutting-edge editing techniques.
The below-the-line work supports the high-profile TV campaign directed by award-winning director, Steve Cope. It comprises a direct mail pack which is being sent to a targeted group of males over 45, an email release, also targeted at the same demographic and a series of online banner ads.
The direct mail pack builds on the innovative creative approach used in the above-the-line activity and features witty copy that communicates the importance of checking for prostrate cancer. Robert Prevezer, Founder and Chairman of The Communications Agency (TCA) says of the campaign: “This was an incredible brief, and once we’d hit upon the idea of using the iconic Bob Monkhouse, there was no turning back.
The campaign has hit a chord with the British public and is already generating much needed funding for one of the most collaborative and effective charities in the UK. We hope that the new DM campaign will continue to generate awareness and funding for such a worthwhile cause.”
