StrongMail, a leading provider of interactive marketing solutions for email marketing and social media, today announced the appointment of Yobie Benjamin to the company's Board of Directors.
A visionary tech innovator and entrepreneur, Benjamin currently serves as CTO and Managing Director of Citigroup Global Transaction Services/Institutional Clients Group (GTS/ICG).
As a member of StrongMail's Board of Directors, Benjamin will draw on his extensive expertise in web technologies and cloud computing to help guide the evolution of StrongMail's multi-channel, interactive marketing platform.
"Having Yobie on StrongMail's board is a real asset, as he has a brilliant mind for helping companies build new technologies that redefine what's possible within their industries," said Sam Cece, CEO of StrongMail. "Yobie joins StrongMail at an exciting time in the company's history, as we accelerate helping large enterprises reap the rewards of multi-channel lifecycle marketing."
Powering email marketing, social and word-of-mouth campaigns for some of the largest brands in the world, StrongMail distinguishes itself with a proven and dedicated multi-channel technology platform that can be accessed on-demand in the cloud or installed on-premise behind a company's firewall for ultimate control and security.
With drag-and-drop lifecycle marketing capabilities and direct connections to customer data, StrongMail enables marketers to achieve true one-to-one marketing via multiple channels. StrongMail's agency services division complements its technology with everything from strategy and optimisation to creative design and landing page development.
"In the various technology roles I've held throughout my career, I've become familiar with numerous multi-channel marketing solutions, but StrongMail stands out as the only company that has both the technology and vision to truly meet the needs of sophisticated interactive marketers," said Yobie Benjamin, CTO of Citibank ICG/GTS and member of StrongMail's Board of Directors.
"I look forward to helping StrongMail continue to build on the vision that they have for empowering marketers with the tools, data and insight they need to make profitable and lasting relationships with their customers."
Benjamin has made a name for himself among elite technology visionaries for his uncanny ability to develop innovative technologies and business models that challenge and greatly surpass the status quo. In 2005, Benjamin founded GoodStorm.com, a social-service e-commerce site helping non-profits that was acquired by Kleiner-Perkins-funded Zazzle.com.
In addition to being a successful tech entrepreneur, Benjamin has served as a management consultant focused on technology, innovation, risk and information technology at some of the most preeminent consulting firms.
Benjamin started his management consulting career at Cambridge Technology Partners, where he served as Chief Knowledge Officer. His career then took him to Ernst and Young, where he held several key positions, including Partner, Chief of Global Strategy and CTO.
Benjamin has also been a partner at Computer Sciences Corporation and Innovation Arts, LLP. When not helping companies exploit the full power of technology, Benjamin focuses his personal research on evolving the consumer music experience, distributed computing, programming languages, games and game theory, synthetic biology and bioinformatics.
