TechWorld, the UK’s largest international technology event, will this year partner with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the trade association for the $190 billion consumer electronics industry in the USA, when it is held at ExCeL London on November 16-17.
CEA’s President and CEO, Gary Shapiro will be a keynote speaker at the TechWorld Networking Evening on 16 November. The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has announced the launch of a new UK-focused media event, CES Unveiled London.
The London-based press event is scheduled for 17 November, as part of the 2012 pre-International CES(R) programme that includes Unveiled press events in both New York and Las Vegas. The 2012 International CES will be held in Las Vegas from 10th – 13 January 2012.
Shapiro said: “With the Tech City project underway in East London, and TechWorld attracting international delegates to the capital in November, London is the ideal location to host a pre-show event for CES. The city is a hub of cutting-edge, innovative technology businesses, demonstrating the UK’s knowledge and expertise in this sector.”
Now in its sixth year, TechWorld is hosting more than 500 handpicked international investors and business decision-makers from more than 50 countries, plus 2,000 of the UK’s leading technology companies and 130 exhibitors showcasing products, during two days to generate business leads, partnerships and inward investment.
“TechWorld is the best event to meet and learn from global leaders in the technology industry, as our partnership with CEA demonstrates,” added Stephen McGowan, Head of Operations ICT, UK Trade & Investment.
“Alongside Gary Shapiro, the speakers at TechWorld’s conference include representatives from UK universities, digital media specialists, games developers, nanotechnology companies, the Technology Strategy Board and trade experts from UK Trade & Investment.
The total turnover for all international companies that are already attending TechWorld is more than £2 billion, and we expect this to increase significantly as more delegates continue to sign up.”
