Phones 4u has thrown its biggest ever pre-Christmas campaign budget behind its latest ad, and it’s paid off because the mobile retailer has scooped a UTalk Marketing People’s Choice award.
Launched on September 29, the 'missing our deals will haunt you' campaign has cost the brand a cool £5.2m. Two 30 second ads are running with a distinctly seasonal horror theme.
Nearly half of the 1,000 consumers we polled, in association with OMD, voted it their favourite recent ad when we asked "Which of the adverts made you want to buy the product or service advertised?"
Caspar Nelson, Phones 4u head of brand communications, commented, "We work really hard to find our customers the right deal for them and that’s what our new campaign focuses on, whilst retaining the kind of humour we know our customers love us for. Communicating a value message to consumers doesn’t need to be dull”.
The ad came tops in the UTalkMarketing People’s Choice – our weekly poll, held in collaboration with OMD Snapshots where we ask 1,000 members of the public to vote for their favourite advert currently in the marketplace.
It received 43% of the vote, placing it ahead of the first runner-up, when participants were asked, "Which of the adverts made you want to buy the product or service advertised?"
