Media Contacts is launching a dedicated social media unit, called Socialyse, to meet growing demand for specialist social media expertise.
The Socialyse offering will include the full suite of social media communications across paid, earned and owned media. The social media unit will focus on developing and delivering social campaigns across community management, blogger outreach, SEO and rich brand owned environments across all devices and platforms.
Socialyse will operate in tandem with Mobext, Media Contacts' dedicated mobile division and also with the newly formed content division at Media Contacts, housing a team of in house content producers.
Pilar Barrio, joins Socialyse from Aegis as Head of Social and will be responsible for a team of 10 dedicated specialists who will work with content, SEO and mobile experts to put social at the heart of client communications strategies.
Her background in deploying social on clients such as Coca Cola, Chevrolet and Panasonic both in the UK and globally, make her an ideal lead for Socialyse. The launch of Socialyse follows significant investment by Media Contacts in to the social space, with the hiring of Neil Kleiner last year at a Havas level and most recently Amy Kean from the IAB, working across Media Contacts, Quantum, Cake and AIS.
The Socialyse vision is to craft social campaigns based on insight derived from consumer data to and deliver high impact, measurable campaigns which exceed clients’ business goals. The 'analyse' element of the brand, points to the strong heritage that Media Contacts have in the analytics space and this will be central to the Socialyse offering and differentiate it from social boutiques.
Socialyse will combine best in breed technology and monitoring tools with dedicated social analysts to measure the true impact of social activity. The team now being formalised as Socialyse has been involved in numerous social media campaigns for a number of Media Contacts’ clients this year including EDF, Isklar, KLM, Shock Absorber and Magners.
Earlier this year, the team launched an interactive celebrity-style video app for E! Entertainment’s ‘Live from the Red Carpet campaign’, promoted via Facebook. Socialyse has already won its first external social client, Safestore and is designing a new campaign that will launch in the coming months. Socialyse will prioritise servicing the existing clients of Media Contacts and MPG Media Contacts but this win illustrates the desire to offer services to external clients who are seeking a true social specialist that can integrate social with all forms of marketing, whether digital or traditional.
