North One Sport, Promoter of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) has appointed 23red to develop an identity for the ‘FIA WRC Academy’; a new programme serving as the first step on the WRC ladder for young drivers and upcoming talent.
The initiative is aimed at 16-24 yr olds and will act as a feeder series to the main World Rally Championship providing the stars of tomorrow with an unrivalled opportunity to develop their talent on the world stage. The identity will span marketing communications, car liveries, TV and merchandise.
Simon Long, CEO of North One Sport, said: ‘With their excellence and creativity in brand development, rich heritage in the world of motorsport and experience as the original creators of the WRC brand identity, 23red were the natural choice for us.’
Pirelli has underlined its commitment to rallying and unearthing the sport's future stars by supporting the new WRC Academy as the Official Tyre Supplier from 2011.
