International creative agency, Creature, has hired three new creative partners to boost its start-up London office. Creative directors Ben Middleton, Ed Warren, and Stuart Outhwaite join the global independent’s management team from Mother London.
In recent years, they have been behind some of the agency’s most talked about and award-winning campaigns. The team will form the creative leadership behind the London office, and are integral to the development of the agency business, led by managing director, Ivan Purdie.
For the past three years, the team was at the creative helm of Mother’s Unilever business, responsible for some of Britain’s best-known work – including recent PG Tips and Pot Noodle campaigns. At Creature, the trio will take the lead across a portfolio of clients, which includes Microsoft, Starbucks’ Seattle’s Best Coffee brand, Pepsi, Jansport, and Pacifico Beer.
Ivan Purdie, Creature London’s managing director, said: “Creature is having a lot of success in the US, and yet we are charged with the task of creating a new Creature here in London that builds on the model in a unique way. Their work really speaks for itself within the industry and the addition of Ed, Ben and Stuart sets the tone for the business we envision here in London.”
Stuart Outhwaite said: “With 20 years of collective experience and award-winning work under our belts, we’re ready to take ownership of a new challenge. Creature has a global reputation for incredible creative work that delivers results and we aim to uphold that.”
ollectively the former Mother team has worked across accounts as diverse as Beck’s, Boots, Powerade, Match.com, Frank, Travelodge and the BFI. Notable work includes Four Feet from a Rat – a graphic novel series developed for Time Out, and the groundbreaking Pot Noodle the Musical, which debuted at the 2008 Edinburgh Festival.
Warren began his career as a planner at Lowe and DLKW before making the transition to creative at Mother. Middleton and Outhwaite are a well-established creative partnership, beginning their careers as graduate interns at Mother eight years ago.
Creature’s ambitious growth strategy will see the agency push its credentials as an independent global ad agency that uses creative strategies to solve business problems for brands.
