Arena Media, the Havas-owned media planning and buying agency, is launching a dedicated social media unit, called 247 Social, to meet growing demand for specialist social media expertise.
Malcolm Devoy, who is responsible for a team of ten dedicated social media and design development specialists, will head up the new division.
He reports directly to Dan Clays, managing director, Arena Quantum. The core 247 Social offer includes social media strategy, content creation, moderation, influencer outreach, community management, implementation and measurement.
Arena has been involved in numerous social media campaigns for a core number of clients – including Domino’s Pizza, Tesco Bank, and Betfair. More recently they have created an interactive celebrity-style video for Hewlett Packard’s paparazzi campaign, which has now been rolled out in 14 European countries after the success it had in the UK.
Rebecca Shears from HP said: “Hewlett Packard is closely aligned with fashion and technology, and the Paparazzi campaign has had great success internationally. We’re confident that 247 Social’s expertise will engage new users, and that we’ll continue to see a core online community develop around our brand.”
Malcolm Devoy, head of 247 Social, said: “Arena Quantum has provided social media services for our clients for years, but more recently there has been a demand for a distinct service that can incorporate media, creative and PR, which when managed separately across multiple suppliers can be inefficient for clients. Our service provides this specialist expertise integrated through one agency offering”.
