Experiential marketing agency Ignite will organise the Starfish Breakfast Run and Picnic on Clapham Common, London, next month for international development charity Starfish Greathearts Foundation.
Ignite aim to help raise more than £10,000 for the charity, whose mission is to bring hope and opportunity to children in South Africa who have been orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS. Ignite is offering its services free of charge as a long-term supporter and partner of Starfish.
The agency will provide assets including race markers and marshalls, water stations and an organised pre-race warm up for the route around Clapham Common, as well as an inflatable arch over the start/finish line that will act as the centrepiece to the event area where the warm-up and prize giving will take place.
Fred Porro, managing director of Ignite, says: “Ignite has produced some of the world’s most talked-about brand experiences, sporting and music events, but few are for a more worthwhile cause than Starfish. It’s a pleasure to be involved and help Starfish achieve its mission of helping more children in South Africa made vulnerable by HIV/Aids.”
The Starfish Breakfast Run takes place on Sunday 5 September. The race is suitable for runners of all levels and starts at 10:30am (chip timing, Starfish T-shirt and picnic bag included for every runner).
Spectators can also buy picnic bags at the event. It is the third time the agency has produced the Starfish Breakfast Run, and the seventh year the event has taken place.
