South West England is to boost tourism in the area with an integrated marketing campaign to run throughout spring and summer 2010.
The six figure campaign, which will be funded by South West RDA (South West of England Regional Development Agency), South West Tourism, and many of the Destination Marketing Organisations (DMOs) - tourist boards in the South West.
The campaign, being devised by Space, is a natural development of their previous ‘South West Real Stories’ campaign work for South West England, which the region has focused its communications strategy on for the last three years.
Themed around the core idea of people having experiences within relevant settings, the new campaign is set to involve a series of mini campaigns themed around five of these experiences: green, country breaks, families, town/city breaks and gourmet, which will be used to promote the participating areas and the wider South West region.
Kirsty Cumming, Deputy Director of South West Tourism, said: “This campaign will be a milestone in regional tourism by virtue of the getting sign-up of so many different partners to unite under it, particularly given the current economic climate.
“We, and our partners in the South West, will work closely Space to devise activity that will help ensure our region is the first choice for all those planning a staycation in the spring, summer and beyond.”
