‘X Factor’ final slot to host new interactive ‘X Box’ ad

A new user-generated advert for Xbox 360new user created advert will be aired on television for the first and final time during the ‘X Factor’ live final tomorrow (Saturday 12, 2009)

Over the past few weeks, listeners of a number of Global Radio stations including the Heart and Galaxy networks and 95.8 Capital FM, have been encouraged to visit a nationwide Xbox 360 bus tour.

There they took part in the creation of a reworked single and music video for Lily Allen’s hit song, ‘The Fear’ to help promote the new ‘Sing with Lips’ game.

Thousands of people reportedly took part in the campaign by playing the new Xbox 360 game and singing whilst being filmed.

The footage formed the new ad, with Lily Allen herself as the centre piece and other participants creating a mosaic of performances around her. 

The ad was aired for the first time during the 95.8 Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball last weekend. It will be supported with the release of a reworking of ‘The Fear’ music video.   

Global Radio, Caswell Coggins (Director) and The Rumpus Room (creative technologists) worked together to create the original interactive campaign.

“We think the final product has brought the game to life and the final ad is really entertaining,” said Global Radio’s Head of Content, John Hirst.
