Island Records are launching the new album from Mika with a preview listening party being held in conjunction The Sun.
Fans can now hear tracks from ‘The Boy Who Knew Too Much’, free of charge ahead of the official launch on September 21, 2009.
A specially designed Mika widget, created by free UK streaming service we7, is appearing on The Sun’s website.
The Listening Party with Mika is the latest in a stream of high-profile pre-releases for we7, which already has in excess of 2.5 million users.
Other album exclusives we7 has pre-released include Jay-Z, Muse, Richard Hawley and Dot Allison.
“We want to be able to make it as easy as possible for fans to hit play and listen to their favourite songs,” said we7’s senior vice president of digital music, Clive Gardiner.
“The success of our Listening Parties to date confirms that fans consider streaming on-demand as a viable alternative method of accessing licensed music and remain undeterred by ad-funded streaming.”
