Almost half of UK companies (49 per cent) believe content management system (CMS) usability is a priority when it comes to project management.
This is according to a survey of 120 companies undertaken by e-Spirit in association with The Content Wrangler.
The study also sees 40 per cent of companies call for improved CMS – so that both time and money can be saved during projects.
Robert Bredlau, Director of International Business Development at e-Spirit, argues that these findings show a shift in priority for CMS in the UK, as well a wider range of people in charge of content management.
“Traditionally, technically minded IT professionals were in charge of content management – people who were trained to navigate complicated systems,” he explained. “But now, people across the business, in marketing and in finance, also need to know how to use CMS.”
“This shift in responsibility explain the need for ease and usability in content management,” he added.
Recently, e-Spirit expanded its CMS portfolio to help all authors achieve ultimate usability, now the user of the CMS does not have to be in the IT team, it can be Marketing or HR alike.
FirstSpirit 4.2 is designed with an innovative look and feel, it includes functional enhancements including the ContentCruiser – which ensure content management is specifically designed to meet the need of editors. Crucially, it also requires no knowledge of content management progresses.
e-Spirit has recently relaunched its own website using its own latest verion of technology, Firstspirit 4.2. The company’s goal is to further increase the usability and agility of the website for customers to use and also for the business to keep the site up to date with relevant content for all users.
