Computer retailer Misco has introduced online video demonstrations with the aim of improving customers' buying decision process.
Misco is one of the UK’s largest computer and accessories retailers with over 20,000 products in stock at any one time.
The product videos showcase demonstrations of the product in use, with voiceover and aim to answer potential buyers' questions about a product.
The videos include rotating product shots along with details of contents and accessories.
The video showcase was initially launched on Misco with the Acer Aspire AS2930 -582G25Mn Notebook PC which has become Misco’s number one viewed product for January 2009.
The affiliate network LinkShare was able to utilise this technology and embed their tracking in order to make it available for publishers to simply copy and paste a small bit of code straight onto their site.

Therefore these informational videos are a powerful sales tool for affiliates and fit perfectly with content and review sites.
In addition to the new online video demonstrations, Misco is a merchant who makes the most of any available technologies and has some other excellent tools available to affiliates:
• RSS Feeds: Misco offers RSS feeds that actually contain the publishers’ tracking once the code has been taken from the LinkShare interface.
This is something we believe no other retailer or network has been able to offer yet. The publisher would take the code, use a RSS display tool to customise the look and feel and publish it on their site.
These feeds are automatically updated by the advertiser and always include the publisher tracking.
• EasyLinks: These are contextual links that are placed on a publisher site and serve products relevant to the content on that site. The process is totally automated; the LinkShare technology utilises the product feed to determine what products to serve and out of those which ones have converted the best. They are available as IAB standard sizes.
• Banners: Misco have a massive choice of different banners available in various sizes, such as Deal of The Week, Laptop Offers, Apple Store - the list goes on. These are automatically updated on a regular basis which gives publishers maximum choice to increase conversions.
• Hot Offers: Misco does not currently offer voucher codes but focuses on key products that are priced to sell.
