The UK Government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has chosen the MEDIAFREEDOM platform to deliver live and on-demand content from Westminster.
MEDIAFREEDOM - built by international multimedia and TV specialists Twofour - is a multi-platform delivery and publishing system that enables distribution of digital media online, as well as to mobile phones and IPTV set-top boxes.
MEDIAFREEDOM is used by government, media and entertainment companies to successfully manage and deliver fully immersive, video rich online environments to viewers.
Philip Haggar, Director, Twofour Digital says, “We are delighted to welcome the FCO to the rapidly growing world of MEDIAFREEDOM. I believe our experience in multi-lingual webTV, for clients including the European Parliament, has been recognised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, who need to create both live and archived content of press conferences from their new Media Centre.
Charlotte Slayford, Multimedia Producer at the Foreign Office, adds, “MEDIAFREEDOM provides us with the ability to control multiple live encoders, such as the Viewcast Niagara and Go-stream/Go-surf; automatically creating archives and managing syndication. Not only will we be using it for our new Media Centre but there has been great interest within the department, for other online video communication. We are delighted that Twofour won our competitive tender, and we look forward to working with them.”
MEDIAFREEDOM already has wide success delivering large web-based media sites to clients such as the European Parliament, Volkswagen and the Football Association, and also powers the online audio for the BBC iPlayer.
