UM has won The Carbon Trust's £4m consolidated media buying account following a 4-way competitive pitch against Carat, MGOMD and Brilliant Media.
The agency has retained all of its previously held assignments and has added the remainder of the business, including the digital, search and outdoor work which moves to UM from Carat. This follows a pitch process invovling agencies on the Carbon Trust media buying roster (Brilliant, UM, MGOMD and Carat).
Peter Hambly, Director, Marketing and Communication at the Carbon Trust commented: "From April 2009 UM will be media buyers for the Carbon Trust across all media channels . Presently they buy press & radio/TV but will be adding online, outdoor and search.”
Andy Jones, CEO at UM London said: "We are absolutely delighted to be extending our relationship with the Carbon Trust. Our buying credentials are second to none and this win clearly underscores the strength of our digital product. We look forward to working with the Carbon Trust to further their objectives in this critically important area."
The Carbon Trust was set up by the Government in 2001 as an independent company. Its mission is to accelerate the move to a low carbon economy by working with organisations to reduce carbon emissions and develop commercial low carbon technologies.
