It’s no secret that Valentine’s Day has become more about advertising campaigns and cheap and cheesy branded gifts. It’s a marketing minefield, but perhaps the dating market is worth just as much regardless as the 14th of February holiday.
Finding Mr Right, according to new research from Onepoll.com, will take 11 years, 39 dates and cost more than £3,630.
In her search for 'The One' the average woman will go on 39 dates with 15 different men, and it won't be cheap, each date will cost an average of £61.47 - a total of £2,397.33 before finding the perfect man.
Women will also spend a further £31.62 before each date - £1,233.18 in total - on a new outfit, make-up and getting their hair done.
A spokesman for www.onepoll.com, said: “This survey shows that finding true love is a tricky business.
“Not only is it costly, but it takes up a lot of time getting ready and going on all the dates, not to mention meeting people in the first place. It proves you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you kiss your Prince Charming.”
