As a step to strengthen the brand’s expanding global presence, ghd has appointed Guy Longworth to take up the reins of Global Brand Director. Based in California, Longworth will be responsible for leading the development and execution of all aspects of ghd’s marketing strategies and plans across the brand’s markets.
Having worked in leadership roles with Procter and Gamble Health and Beauty Care, Kraft Foods, Kellogg’s and Marlow Foods, Longworth has spent the last two years as CEO of an early stage Californian based internet communications business based in San Francisco.
ghd’s UK marketing team will continue to be headed up by Group Marketing Director, Sarah Lambley, whose responsibilities cover international marketing planning, campaign executions and agency relationships.
Lambley joined ghd back in November 2006, and has since been responsible for taking the brand through its appointment of retained agency, TBWA\Manchester and managing the launch of the new ghd IV styler. She has also led the team through its two latest brand campaigns – ‘Thy Will Be Done’ and ‘See The Light’, and the brand’s hugely successful 2008 Christmas promotion, which was a sell out and ghd’s most successful promotion to date. Lambley will report into Guy Longworth.
Guy Longworth, said: “With the Christmas sell out, recent launch of the new brand campaign and ghd being hailed as a Coolbrand for 2009, it’s an exciting time to join the team. The energy and passion of the team is clearly evident and I’m looking forward to working with the team during the next stage of the development of the brand.”
