St Kitts moves into high end retailing

Skin care company St Kitts Herbery has received a facelift and new identity at the hand of Cornish marketing, public relations, advertising and design company mpad.

The agency helped launch the skin care range into the high end market by giving its branding a complete facelift.

mpad was called upon by Camelford-based St Kitts Herbery to implement a new identity for the herbery, which produces handmade toiletries, chocolate and remedies.

Following the creation of the identity and logo, the complete makeover saw mpad’s in-house designer, Matt Hollands, create labels and source packaging for 40 different beauty products from soaps to shampoos.

Matt was also responsible for product photography, catalogue creation, stationery, brochure and website design and production.

“This was a great project to work on,” said Matt. “St Kitts offers high quality handmade products so the brand really needed to reflect this.

“Elegance was certainly one element that the design work needed to exude, so we used silver embossing to help depict this.

“It was also important to create an identity that would be adaptable and versatile.  For instance, designing the labels for the herbery’s four different ranges meant I had to find colours that worked well with all the products, as well as ensuring the collections look attractive together on the shelf.”

To produce the new e-commerce site,, Matt worked closely with Refuse Internet and Padstow-based web designer Rickie Staple. 

The project is proving to be a huge success as the identity is being well received by both St Kitts and its clients.

“We’re delighted with the new look mpad has created for us, and we’re receiving fantastic feedback from our customers who also like it,” said Susan Johnson, who set up St Kitts Herbery with husband Paul.

St Kitts already supplies to high-end customers including Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall, but it hopes the new identity will increase demand further.

“We feel the packaging now reflects the quality of the product inside and we are looking forward to moving into new markets with our improved branding,” added Susan.
