Perfect Fools develop 'Survivors' online reality challenge

Online adventure game and experience developed by digital creative agency Perfect Fools

Award-winning, international digital creative agency Perfect Fools was commissioned to develop the BBC’s key concept ideas for an online companion and adventure game to support the drama series Survivors. Perfect Fools filmed much of the site’s non-series video content, and was responsible for concept development, design, programming, and ongoing updating of the site in close cooperation with the development team at the BBC.

The online adventure game and reality challenge, created in Adobe Flash, centres on confronting visitors with real choices, based on key series themes. What type of survivor each visitor turns out to be will be determined by how they choose, just like the TV characters in the series.

Survivors Interactive mixes rich live action video, dynamic motion design, still images, music, atmospheric sound, smart technology and more to create a lush and exciting online experience. The site mirrors each episode and extends the entertainment experience for viewers while also attracting new viewers. It provides a unique, multi-linear storytelling space that builds directly on the key characters and themes presented in the series.

Survivors is set in the aftermath of a devastating virus that wipes out most of the world’s population. Each week the characters battle with pressures and choices that determines their future and that of their fellow survivors.
