M-Cube today reinforced its commitment to revolutionising the face of the international prepaid market by announcing its partnership with Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline.
The launch of the Ryanair Prepaid programme is the largest mass market multi-brand prepaid programme ever launched by a prepaid card provider across the UK and Ireland.
The new scheme offers programme members access to a wide range of features and benefits unprecedented in the UK prepaid industry, all accessed through ownership of a Ryanair MasterCard® Prepaid Card and purposefully designed to appeal to a broad consumer audience via personal lifestyle online portal (www.ryanairprepay.com).
M-Cube has negotiated discounts, rewards and giveaways for cardholders with leading High Street brands including Ticketmaster, CarPhoneWarehouse, HMV and Marks & Spencer, that can be accessed through the personal online portal.
Additional benefits available to members include:
-2 prepaid cards - one each for £ and € denominated purchases and transactions.
-A cash-back scheme - the card’s cash back facility enables members to earn up to 20 per cent of all money spent on the card (to be re-credited by M-Cube) from purchases from brands including Miss Selfridge, SKY Digital, PC World, Laura Ashley and Dixons.
-A discount scheme - Extra savings can be made from discounted shopping such as up to 50 per cent off tickets with TicketMaster when shopping via the member’s portal as well as earning monetary rewards from every purchase made.
-A rewards scheme - With every purchase made or ATM transaction on the card consumers earn 10 points. Once users reach their first 1000 points, a reward of £10 will be credited to the card.
-Access to exclusive competitions/prize draws - All members that sign up to the Ryanair prepay program throughout November will be entered into a free prize draw, for the chance to win a trip to Barcelona, courtesy of M-Cube.
-Travel - the membership also entitles cardholders four free flights*. For travelers to European destinations, they will be able to use both their cards as money can be immediately credited from either the £ - denominated card directly to their € - denominated card or vice versa, with no exchange commission charged.
In Ireland, home of Ryanair, M-Cube has also secured an exclusive distribution and service arrangement with An Post, the nation's leading postal service, to provide top-up facilities for customers.
The new scheme reflects M-Cube's conviction that the future of prepaid cards hinges on achieving success in broadening their role and purpose far beyond their traditional function as a means of payment.

The new scheme is the latest in a series of market innovations from M-Cube. In March 2007, M-Cube partnered with the Aspinall Foundation wildlife charity to launch a prepaid card. In August 2008, M-Cube then waived all purchase and delivery fees for UK customers choosing the Aspinall Foundation Maestro® prepaid card, making it the first card of its kind to be offered for free at the point of sale with all profits from transaction charges donated directly to the Aspinall Foundation wildlife charity.
