New music social networking site launches

New music social networking site launches, a new social networking site, has launched after months of beta testing by an army of over a thousand music artists and new music fans.

The UK site is aimed at people creating or listening to new, unsigned and undiscovered music.  Users are able to create free online profiles, blog, upload music, videos and images, share music and gig news.  The website helps users promote, comment on and listen to new music.  New tools, including digital distribution services to help sell artists music and new applications to promote new music both online and offline are set to come onboard in the coming months.

Tom Fearn,’s founder, said: “People are looking for a more relevant online experience and demanding more from the social networks they use.  We have reacted to feedback from music artists and fans who want an alternative site that goes much further to support home-grown UK music talent, including access to help and marketing advice when they need it.”

The site has been designed by digital design agency Soula and goes far beyond a typical call of duty to help support the UK music scene.  Behind the scenes, provides support to help users make the most of their online profiles and selected up-and-coming artists are provided with free marketing support, including banners, flyers and other promotional material to help them promote their music to a wider audience.  Music artists that have already benefited include the likes of Alex Blood, the Colours and Kashmir Red.

Unlike many other music social networking sites, is purely focused on the UK music scene and has a strong local presence.  The site is also really easy to use with simple design and functionality – making it much easier for users to create their own well-designed profiles and connect with each other. 

Tom Fearn concludes: “People want to connect regionally as well as with what’s going on across the UK.  Many bands and artists start by building up their regional following first and users of social networking sites don’t want to trawl through profile after profile to get to what they’re interested in.  With users can search directly for the type of music, artists and fans they want to connect with.” is funded through music-related advertising and sponsorship and is looking to partner with music-focused brands and third-party vendors as the site expands and new functionality is added.
