Baber Smith Poaches Creative Group Head from Clark McKay and Walpole
Independent agency Baber Smith has appointed Mark Blanchard as Creative Group Head following the recent expansion of the agency. In this new role, Blanchard will be tasked with advising on the creative content of all campaigns produced across the agency.
Blanchard has over 20 years experience in the creative arena and he joins Baber Smith from Clark McKay and Walpole (CMW) where he was Creative Group Head and Senior Writer working on accounts including the COI, John Lewis and Lotus.
Blanchard, who has also worked at FCB and RPM3 will also be responsible for the copywriting on all of Baber Smith’s accounts including American Express, DSGi and Brent Cross. He will report directly into Simon Smith, the agency’s founder and Creative Director.
A Gold IPA Award winner for his work for the COI, Blanchard’s other creative achievements include a Gold award for his work with Persil at the DMA and Precision Marketing Awards and a Gold award for his work with Mitsubishi at the New York Festival. He was also awarded a Gold award at the Travel Advertising Awards for his work with Le Shuttle.
Baber Smith has recently enjoyed an influx of new business wins, including Cabot Circus (the £500m redevelopment of Bristol city centre) and Child Trust Fund provider Family Investments, plus the growth of existing accounts including DSGi and American Express.
