Richard Glasson has been appointed as chief executive of leading integrated communications agency Gyro International, following Gary Brine’s recent decision to leave the company after 17 years at the helm.
Previously, Glasson has been chief operating officer at Gyro since 2002, and worked alongside Gary as they took the business through its recent sustained and significant growth and international expansion. Glasson has also led the acquisition programme for Gyro, which has seen eight new companies added to the group over the past two years in addition to the organic openings in Dubai and Madrid during the same period.
At the same time, Richard Perry has been promoted to chief operating officer. Perry has been at Gyro since 1995, most recently as VP of EMEA and managing director of the group’s UK and Ireland businesses.
New CEO of Gyro International Richard Glasson said: “I am delighted to be taking over as chief executive at this exciting time in Gyro’s history. In January this year we secured new investment of £55 million, and we have some exciting new opportunities to continue Gyro’s expansion, in the UK and overseas. 2008 will be yet another record year for the company, and we head into 2009 full of optimism”.
Gary Brine said “I wish Richard Glasson every success for the future”, whilst Glasson added: “Gary started Gyro in 1991, and has been an incredible leader of the business for the past 17 years. He has become a great friend as we have worked together over the past six years, and I wish him all the very best for the future.”
