All terrestrial stations have seen a strong March in terms of impacts - this has been caused by Easter falling so early this year, in addition school holidays being different dates will have contributed.
ITV was up approx 3% year on year. Dancing on Ice performed extremely well, averaging 9 million viewers a show, with the final achieving 10.8 million.
Channel 4 was up 8.9% year on year. Grand Designs continues to perform well averaging 3 million viewers.
Five also showed growth, up 7.5% They continue to benefit from the additional viewers Neighbours has brought, in addition the CSI franchise continues to perform well with 3.3million viewers tuning in for the final episode of the season in March.
Overall commercial viewing in March was up 11.9% compared to the same period last year.
P&G continues to occupy first place focusing its energies mainly on Daz, Ariel and Herbal Essences – although in comparison with the same period last year their spend is down 12.9%.
COI continues to increase spend month on month, now up 18.3% and has moved into second place for March.
The majority of this spend has been on social care, recruitment, skills for life, and finally the quit smoking campaigns following the implementation of the smoking ban last summer.
