Marketing has been ranked fourth out of eleven in a league table of the best jobs for mums returning to work, according to a survey by the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA).
Teaching topped the poll, closely followed by the catering, retail and leisure industries, with the legal profession coming in last.
Researchers asked 2000 mums across the UK which kind of jobs they felt were most suitable for women returning to work after a career break and asked how they felt they were treated upon their return to work.
The survey also found that 86 per cent of marketing workers are looking for a more flexible approach to work.
Only 28 per cent of mums working in marketing felt they were ‘treated like an equal’ on returning to work in the sector, according to findings.
Just 13 per cent of mums working in marketing felt they had sufficient opportunities to develop their careers.
